Some Christian doubts their salvation. They are always wondering whether they are really saved or not. They may be feeling like the joy of salvation is not really in their heart. Some may even say they are not just feeling it. Salvation is not about feeling, it is all about what you believe, what you have faith in.

First of all, you have to know that you are saved through faith and the grace of God. Ephesian 2:8 say, For by the grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”

Your salvation is a gift from God. So once you opened your mouth to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and you believe in your heart, then you are saved.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is lord, and believe in your heart that god raised him from the dead, you will be saved” Romans 10:9

5 Signs for You to Know That You Are Really Saved

  1. You Will Receive The Holy Spirit

If you are truly saved, you will receive the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is the first gift of salvation. Once you believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Lord and savior, then the Holy Spirit comes into your spirit to live forever with you. The Holy Spirit testifies in you that you are saved, and saved eternally. Even if you doubt your salvation, the Holy Spirit within you will give you boldness and testifies that you are saved. Romans 8:16 tells us that: “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”

  1. You Will Become A New Person

You will know that you are saved when you can no longer do the things you do before. Even when you want to do it, the Holy Spirit within you will quicken you and remind you that you are now a new person, you can’t do this. You will think and behave differently, you will do away with anything that has to do with sin and you will see the world differently. Your entire life in Christ will be renewed. 2 Corinthians 5:17 say, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

  1. You Will Be Thirsty For God And His Word

When you are saved, you will want to know God more and be close to him. You will just find yourself doing the things of God. You will also tend to meditate on the word of God more. Even if you have been reading bible before and it really makes no sense to you, now that you are saved, you will have more understanding because the Holy Spirit within you will help your infirmities. Psalm 42:1 say, “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. “

  1. You Will Have A New Sense Of Fellowship To Be Part Of The Body Of Christ.

When you are saved, you will just enjoy going to the house of the Lord, you will enjoy fellowshipping with other believers in faith. Even when you are in the house of the Lord, you will discover that you have joy and peace through the word of God you listen to and your fellowship with other brethren. No wonder the psalmist said “I was glad when they said to me that let us go to the house of the Lord!”

  1. You Will Love Everybody Around You And Bring Others To Christ

After accepting Christ, it will be easier for you to love everyone around you because God is love. You will be able to spread love to others and through spreading the love with joy in your heart; it will be easier for you to tell people around you about Jesus. 1 john 4:19 say; “We love because He first loved us.”

Whenever you doubt your salvation, just say aloud with faith, “I am saved by the grace of God and my salvation is eternal. The holy spirit within you will also give you more assurance that you are truly saved.
