The Spirit of God through the Apostle says, “Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all” Galatians 4: 1. This is one of the reasons you must live and grow stronger as a Christian. It is your responsibility to grow as a Christian. If you refuse to grow, you will remain a spiritual babe that is toss to and fro by the elements of this world. Also, you would not be different from young converts in Christ who need to be fed with milk.

The material you need to live and grow stronger as a Christian is the Word of God. 1 Peter 2: 2 says, “As newborn babies, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby.” The more you study the Word the more you will grow by it unto spiritual maturity. The Word of God is the food for the human spirit. Man was created by God and His Word is the right food for the man to grow spiritually. This is why the Apostle Paul said, “And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified” Acts 20: 32.

Another thing that can help you live and grow stronger as a Christian is developing the culture of always being in church and participating in church activities. “Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching” Hebrews 10: 25. Attending church services gives you the opportunity to hear the Word of God being preached. You will hear testimonies of other Christian and how to put the Word of God to practice in their live and situations. Regular attendance of your local church services will afford you the opportunity to participate in the gospel. You will be involved in winning souls, praying, and administration with other Christians in the church.

Developing a consistent prayer life is yet another way you can live and grow stronger as a Christian. You would not only learn to pray for yourself alone but interceding for other Christians and for sinners to give their lives to Christ. “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” Mark 11: 24. Living what you preach will also help you grow stronger as a Christian. It will be counterproductive for you to preach peace and does not live in harmony with those around you. As a Christian, you are the light of the world around you. God expects you to live an exemplary live so those around you can be converted. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” Matthew 5: 16.
