As a Christian youth, you are a shining example for other youths in your neighborhood to emulate. You must be conscious of that fact every day because as far as God is concern you should be exemplary. The Lord Jesus calls you the light of the world and a city set on a hill. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” Matthew 5: 14. The Lord clearly marks you out as an example – a reference point. There is no way you can hide or wish you are not a symbol of pride and admiration. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” Matthew 5: 16.

Knowing that God made you the light with which the youths in your world should see you must develop a strong Christian character based of the Word of God. In other words, you must develop a voracious appetite for the Word God. “And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified” Acts 20: 32. Deep knowledge of the Word will build your personality as well as expose you to your inheritance in Christ Jesus.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” 1 Peter 2: 9. In making a difference as a Christian youth God wants you to proclaim His praises among your friends; your world. Remember who He made you, a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and His own special people. So you proclaim His praises by telling your friends and every youth who come in contact with you about the goodness of God. Preach the Lord Jesus Christ to them and by all means ensure they become born again Christians, serving God in spirit and in truth like you. Praise God.The Apostle Paul admonish Timothy and by implication you. “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity” 1 Timothy 4: 12. If you must make a difference as a godly youth in this generation, follow the pattern the Apostle Paul gave to Timothy. Ensure you are an excellent example to others especially youths in the Word of God; in the way you conduct yourself; in demonstrating God’s love to others; in the spirit; in showing your faith and in living in purity. The Lord God is with you to help. You will not fail to live a life of difference to impact the youth in your world with the investment of your personality in the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4: 13
