Top 10 Bible Verses About Inspiration

Some people have the innate ability to inspire themselves, or even find inspiration in the smallest things. Other people find inspiration in sadness or heartache, where others still find inspiration in beauty and joy.

We can find some of the most inspirational stories in the library of Scripture. From Abraham and Sarah conceiving even while Sarah was barren to Samson having a final glorious moment standing for God, even though he is blind. The boy David, facing and conquering a 9-foot giant in no protective gear and armed with only 5 stones and a sling shot. Esther, saving the nation of Israel through her influence with the king. Jesus, living a pure and blameless life, inspiring us to seek the Kingdom, telling us that we will do greater things than he did.

Apart from all of these stories, the Holy Spirit is our ultimate inspiration. All wisdom and understanding we have regarding God and his Kingdom are the result of the Spirit’s teaching and inspiration (Job 32:8). This is further confirmed with the truth that we cannot save ourselves, but it is by the Spirit of God we come to the understanding of His salvation in Jesus Christ.

One of the ways the Holy Spirit inspires us is through reading the Scriptures:

1. 2 Timothy 3:16 ESV

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

2. 2 Peter 1:21 ESV

For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

7. Hebrews 13:5-7 ESV

Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.

8. 2 Timothy 3:17 ESV

9. John 14:26 ESV

Warm your heart by the fire of inspiration that can be found within the scriptures, that are Spirit breathed. Inspiration is fleeting; however, and therefore you should surround yourself with like-minded people. People who are also seeking after the heart of God, people who are also needing the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

We can draw inspiration from each other, from speak words of encouragement and prophecy to each other. Remembering to weigh these words with Scripture as Paul advises in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 “Test everything. Hold on to the good.” Prophecy is a powerful gift for the saints that uplift and build up the faith of others. Paul says that we should eagerly pursue the gift of prophecy for the body of Christ.

If prophecy is a gift of the Spirit and the Holy Spirit is our ultimate inspiration, surely then we can inspire others by way of prophecy. Remember to give all prophecy in love, to make sure that the heart of the Father shines through and that his name is glorified in all situations. Prophecy is definitely inspirational, but we should partner with the Holy Spirit so as to ensure that we are not hurting our brothers or sisters in Christ.

Together we are the bride of Christ, lets inspire one another.
